Through his show “The Ranveer Show” he has built a huge fan following. However recently his remarks in a show led to controversy and hatred among the people. Ranveer Allahbadia was seen crying about his work being terminated as recently shared in the social media. Users said it was a reaction because of the recent controversy in the show but after investigation, it was revealed that the original video was from April, 2021, when Allahabadia was tested positive for Covid-19. Social media users shared a three year old video which remarked that it was somehow related to the show “India’s Got Latent.” 

Ranveer Allahbadia (aka BeerBiceps) is a popular podcaster and influencer. He is an engineering student but his passion was different. He started a YouTube channel called BeerBiceps. In the beginning, the channel focused on fitness and cooking.

Later, he expanded the content to self-development and styling. After working on the channel for a year or two, he reconnected with Viraj, who is now co-founder at Monk Entertainment.

A video went viral recently which users claimed that it was his reaction towards the recent controversy in the show. He was seen sobbing about his career being doomed which users claimed that it was his reaction to his recent remarks on the show.

Ranveer Allahbadia faces backlash for asking an inappropriate question to one of the contestants on Samay Raina’s show, ‘India’s Got Latent.’ His remark about parents caused anger on social media. The video of the particular comment went viral on every social media platform due to which he received a massive backlash and a FIR under his name.

An X (earlier known as twitter) user shared a video showing BeerBiceps crying and sobbing on camera. Users claimed that it was Mr. Allahabadia’s reaction due to his recent remarks about parents with one contestant on the show. It was a video of April, 2021. When he got tested positive for Covid-19. This was the sole reason why he got emotional on the camera. As due to lockdown, everyone’s work was affected and so was his.

In the old video, Ranveer is seen crying and saying, “I just feel I am guilty,” which many social media users are interpreting as his response to the recent remarks on the show. Though different people had different opinions about the video. Some said it was just a publicity stunt to gain sympathy while others thought he was genuinely apologetic of whatever comments he had made in the show.

Though it was an old video, Ranveer Allahbadia has recently uploaded an apology video on his social media handles which felt genuine, but everybody has different opinions about the video.

A clip from the show, which went viral, shows Allahbadia asking a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever.” Social media users spread hatred due to the rising trend of adult content which is now easily available to all age groups, including children, which affects the society. YouTube has removed the video after receiving a notice from the officials.

A lot of memes and trends have gone viral. Audiences are divided among critics and supporters. Some of them criticize Allahbadia by saying it as a “shameful act.” while others said that, “It is a comedy show, it was just meant for the comedy.”

In his recent video on 10th February, Ranveer Allahbadia has addressed the controversy by admitting his mistake. He apologized for his remarks on parents, he further said “I never wanted to use this platform in a way which affects people of all age groups. I am sorry. I hope you forgive me as a human being.”

After that video no recent message has been addressed from him or his team. Though he was apologetic, it has definitely affected his brand and reputation. In social media, it witnessed a drop of 50000 followers and 2 million subscribers just in ‘one sentence.’

Indian influencers often face criticism for promoting adult content publically, promoting new styles in the fashion industry or whatever they wear, say or talk about. Basically influencers are criticized for everything one way or the other. Indian public figures face intense criticism over traditional values, appearance, personal choices, and almost everything.

Influencers have to maintain balance between their work and societal expectations as well. Earlier, stand up comedian Munawar Faruqui was accused of cracking jokes about Hindu deities in April 2020. A lawyer in Uttar Pradesh reported him to the police.

The Mumbai Police has asked podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, known as Beer Biceps, to appear before them on Saturday as part of investigation into his controversial remarks on a YouTube show, India’s Got Latent. Earlier on Friday, teams of Mumbai and Assam police visited his residence but found the flat locked. Influencers in India should be more careful about their words, or anything they share in the media publically.

One sentence has changed lives of many people including Ranveer Allahbadia who was accompanied by Jasprit Singh, Ashish Chanchalani, Apoorva Makhija in a show “India’s Got Latent” hosted by Samay Raina.
